This one particular segment had Vince’s blood boiling as it was from a good feud !
Recently, on Edge and Christian’s Pod of Awesomeness, former head WWE writer Bryn Gewirtz was a guest. During Brian’s time with the WWWE which spanned from 2000 to 2015, they discussed many different topics.
Vince McMahon absolutely hated one particular segment of a topic.
To work for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Seven Bucks Entertainment Company, Gewirtz left the WWE in 2015. As an executive for the company to this day, he continues to work.
The latter would often specifically request Gewirtz to write his poems as Gewirtz and The Rock had a good relationship in the WWE.
WWE Champion Edge (with Lita) was feuding with John Cena, it was the summer of 2006. Edge came out victorious as they would be main event of the 2006 edition of SummerSlam.
When Edge and Lita visited Cena’s father’s home (uninvited presumably); which ended up with John Sr. confronting the due and Edge delivering a vicious slap in the living room, was the segment that Vince hated with the feud.
The segment is here below:
Vince dismissed those comments because Gewirtz said that Vince has told him that a dozen times, according to Gewirtz the footage was the worst Vince had ever seen.
Vince said, “that might be the worst thing we ever recorder in the history of the business”, is what Vince said on a phone call to Gewirtz.
The story arc that Gewirtz is most proud of would be from 2008 when Chris Jericho feuded with Shawn Michaels, is what he said in the same interview with Edge & Christian.
Gewirtz loved it because it allowed him to get to know Michaels better and it enabled him to get out of his comfort zone of comedy writing, as it was a very personal and serious feud.
