The Hounds of Justice are set to take on the New Day as The Big Dog is back !
According to a report from PWInsider, Roman Reigns has been cleared to return to the ring. In a match between The Shield and The New Day, the former WWE Champion is expected to be involved.
Against The Miz, Braun Strowman, Kane, Cesaro & Sheamus at the TLC pay-per-view, Reigns was originally expected to compete but was pulled from the show dues to a viral infection.
At the TLC, Reigns was replaced by Kurt Angle and has continually been replaced with other wrestlers during live events.
It’s expected that a six-man tag team match will be announced between The Shield and The New Day, with Reigns cleared to compete.
On this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW when The New Day faked a second SmackDown Invasion and cost Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins the Raw Tag Team Championships, the seeds were planted for The Shield versus New Day match.
In various tag team matches since 2015, the members of The Shield and The New Day have been interacting with each other as collective units.
In December 13, 2016, edition of RAW was the last time the members of The Shield faced The New Day and defended their RAW Tag Team Championships against Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns and the team of Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens.
The announcement of the New Day versus The Shield is expected to occur on next week’s episode of RAW, with the reports indicating that Reigns is cleared to perform at the Survivor Series.
For the Tribute to the Troops episode and the interest was high back then as this match was teased in 2016, so the excitement for The Shield’s first match back at the major pay-per-view against another highly accomplished faction could have fans sitting on the edge of their seats.
